Sheet Vinyl Flooring, a traditional flooring option that is available today

Sheet vinyl flooring can be found in older homes, as it was an original flooring option in the. Many of our grandmothers and grandfathers had this product in their homes. Don't let that dissuade you from considering it for modern-day usage in your home. It still has its benefits that serve homes today.

What is it made of?

This flooring is composed of a vinyl layer attached to a felt-paper backing. The uninterrupted visuals on sheet vinyl are stunning. It has no seams or lines. It comes in 12-foot rolls that are rolled out on the floor and then cut accordingly.

Does it go over a regular floor?

Sheet vinyl can go over any floor. You have to look out for bumps or cavities in the floor that can show up in the vinyl covering. Our installers will take care of those bumps and cavities, smoothing them down or filling them in so you have a smooth undersurface to lay the vinyl sheet upon. There may be times when the subfloor needs to be replaced, or a skim coat is laid down to make the floor smooth enough.

It’s waterproof, right?

Yes, sheet vinyl is waterproof. You will find it impervious to all liquids. This means that it was constructed out of entirely waterproof materials. Mainly this is PVC, which is one of the most used materials in construction today.

Will it last?

Durability is a vital feature and benefit for this resilient floor. It can come in varying thicknesses, and the thicker it is, the more durable it will be. The backing offers a cushion and resilience that makes it perfect for kitchens, where you may be standing for long periods as you cook or entertain. The thickness will also help with scratches, dents, nicks, stains and prevent fading so your floor will look new, year after year.

Do I need professional installation?

Yes, professional installation is best done by craftsmen who know their materials. The flooring is all one piece, so the cuts and measures have to be exacting. Our installers know how to do it right, so no mistakes are made.
